The kits

Four kits, and the difference is your decklid

All four run the same Aisin AMR 500 supercharger and the same MST serpentine pulley system. What separates them is how tall the assembly sits, what carburettor is on the end of it, and how much engine you’re feeding.

The Sleeper

Fits inside a standard Beetle or Ghia decklid with nothing cut and nothing extended. Nobody knows it’s there until they hear the AMR 500 whine. Also the kit that gets a camper up the hill.

The Slammed Ultimate

Ultimate power, lowered to clear an unmodified Beetle or Ghia decklid. Comes with the one-piece boost outlet pipe as standard. Needs an easy-access alternator to make room.

The Ultimate

The full-height build and the most power we make. Drops straight into a Bay or a Splitty; a Beetle needs decklid extenders and a Ghia needs lid mods. Around 105 bhp out of a 1641.

Which kit fits your car

Two questions decide it: what you’re putting it in, and how much engine is in there. Pick both and the right kit comes back — then email us and we’ll sanity-check it against your actual build before anyone takes an order.

The Sleeper

At this displacement the AMR 500 has plenty in hand, so there is no reason to cut the car about. The Sleeper closes under a standard decklid and the shorty carb keeps the whole assembly short enough that nothing shows.

The Slammed Ultimate

Big enough an engine to want the Weber DCOE, but a car whose lid you probably don’t want to cut. The Slammed sits low enough to close a stock Beetle or Ghia decklid — provided you’re running an easy-access alternator.

The Ultimate

You have the room, so take the height. The full-height build makes the most power of anything we do and drops into a bus engine bay without a single modification.

The Cyclone

Nothing to hide it under and no reason to. The upright Weber IDF and the filter on top are the whole idea — it is built to be looked at as much as driven.

How it’s made

Laser cut, TIG welded, then run before it ships

We aren’t mass-producing generic parts. Every bracket and every length of pipe in a Kompressor Haus kit is stainless, cut on a laser, welded by hand and polished — then bolted to a real engine to prove it before it goes in a box.

  1. Stainless throughout

Inlet manifold, outlet pipe, T-tube and brackets are all laser-cut stainless, TIG welded and polished. Nothing is bent mild steel with paint over it.

  2. Fitted to our mule engine first

The key components of every full kit are assembled onto our stock twin-port workshop engine and run, so alignment is proven rather than assumed.

  3. Filmed, and the film is yours

We record the key stages of that fitting and send the footage with the kit. You see your own parts built and running before they leave the workshop.

  4. An instruction pack a person can follow

Comprehensive written instructions in the box and a full assembly video on the channel for every kit. Bolt-on throughout — no welding, no machining, no cutting.
